Finished Spring Cleaning, De-clutter too for a Brighter Home
With spring here, so many of us get the fever to grab the dust pan and do some spring cleaning. This year after I was done, things still felt so gloomy.
Kasey sent me these tip for brightening up your home: lighten up, accessorize, color correct, do a switcheroo, & finally de-clutter.
1) Lighten Up
Swap out your lamp from other rooms or just simply change the wattage of your light bulbs. It gives the room a different feel.
2) Accessorize
Add a plant, new rug or cheerful pillow. It brings out the new and adds some spring cheer to a room.
3) Color Correct
Lighten the mood, for spring. Remove some of your dark bold colors and add some soft spring tones.
4) Do a Switcheroo
It’s a new season, change your artwork. Add a slip cover. Don’t be afraid to try something new.
5) De-Clutter
It’s spring. It’s a great time to organize and toss out clutter.
Go through your “saved” piles of magazines, mail, books and other items. Are they are needed? It’s great time to organize for tax time. Remove the winter knickknacks on your tables and shelves. Some rooms will seem bigger and brighter just by cleaning out. Nothing on top of the refrigerator can really make the kitchen seem clean for spring.
