Making this cereal is a great way to save money, also the kids will love helping you make it.

3 c. uncooked old fashioned rolled oats
1 1/2 c. dry coconut shreds, unsweetened (get at the health food store)
1/2 c. wheat germ
1 c. sunflower seeds
1/4 c. sesame seeds
1/2 c. raw honey
1/4 c. oil
1/2 c. cold water
1 c. silvered, blanched almonds.
1/2 c. raisins (optional)

This cake is so easy and I always have the ingredients
on hand.

1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup crisco
1 beaten egg
1/2 cup milk
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoons salt

Mix together the above and pour into a round 9 X 1 1/2 inch cake pan. Dot with butter, and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 350-400 degrees. Cool and take out of pan.

This cake works great for strawberry short cake, but works with any kind of fruit. I just cut up strawberries, mix with a touch of sugar until juice forms and put on top of cake.

Sometimes I make 2 cakes, and put the fruit between the layers and top with whip cream to use as a birthday cake.
