It doesn't matter where you live, of course this site is for you. A strong woman who does it all, and handles changes in stride. It's a place where we get a chance to ask each other the big questions like, "How do you do it all -- home, kids, errands, work, community?"
Our main goal is to share the things that work for us: tips, news, advice, and products. We appreciate your participation, so please comment on what you see here and send us your ideas!
Meet the Girls:
Allison Robinson:
I’m the main editor here at Midwestern Woman. Most of the time, I’m the one that reviews the articles and posts them to the site. I’m thirty-something, work in an office and have a blended family of three. Our little one is four and she is cute as a bug and growing like a weed.
Wendy Bennett:
Wendy is in her fifties and lives the life of a Corporate Executive, always on the run. Her husband is retired and her daughter is pursuing her masters. She uses her Blackberry to send us her ideas.
Tracy Hart:
I’m a retail buyer and am fifty-something. I’ve just married my soul mate and we both have grown children from our first marriages. That makes me lucky, because now I have twice as many grandchildren to spoil. The girls call me the shopping expert, because as a professional shopper I can smell a good deal and lead everyone to it.
Mickey Jones:
Hi I’m Mickey and I’m in my twenties. My man and I married a couple of years ago, and I just became a new mom. We decided that I would stay at home with the baby for a few years. I’ve started working from home to add a little extra income.
Joanna McMillan:
Let me in introduce myself. I’m a fifty-something woman with a family of five. My son is graduating from high school this year and deciding on where to go. We want him to stay close, but he’s leaning toward an out of state school. We also have a 14 year old boy who loves computers and a 16 year old daughter who’s very into sports.
Jennifer Smith:
I’m an energetic woman in my thirties. I’m a family lawyer who works in my father-in-law’s firm. We have two toddlers, a five year old boy and a two year old little girl.
Sharon Tillman:
I’m Sharon and am a traveling salesperson. The ladies call on me for travel advice and directions. I’ve stayed at every hotel you can think of and have opinions on them all. I love a great restaurant and will try out a new place in a heart beat. If I have to say, I’m in my forties. My husband and I have been married for fifteen years and have no children.
How Did We Meet?
So glad you asked. We are a group of woman that met through work quite a few years ago. I was just out of college, in a new city and starting a new job. The people at work were so nice to include me in their established group of friends. I saw them at work and away from work.
Then our lives started changing and we got busy, but met up for lunch about once a week to give each other family advise and discuss news, hobbies, and the best bargains in town.
After awhile some went on to bigger and better careers, some moved away, and I changed positions many times at the same company. We now correspond more by phone and email, than in person.
This site was developed to let us each show our talents by taking turns updating the site like a monthly newsletter with all the stuff we wanted everyone to know. Like, did you see that great article the other day, or have you used this new product.
