Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

Today my family and I walked in the non-competitive 5K Run/walk to support finding a cure for breast cancer. I walked for my grandmother who lost her battle with breast cancer many years ago. I walked for all women who have the will to fight cancer everyday.

Even though our five year old daughter had to stop to potty before crossing the finish line, we made it in an hour and 26 seconds. What a feeling it was to have crossed that line. Still recoverying from the surgery I had earlier in the month, it felt so good to complete my goal. What a wonderful day it was, and a wonderful feeling to be among so many strong women with one goal.

“I AM THE CURE” was today’s rally cry. Early detection truly makes a difference. I urge you to take an active role in your own breast health.

Breast Cancer Awareness

Last month I attended at breast cancer fund raiser. What a great cause. I went with my best friend. Booths were setup to pamper, relax, and shop. I got my hair done, a massage, and shopped for presents “pink ribbon” items of course.
