Ideas for that last summer vacation. Check out some the best in the Midwest.

Pretty soon all the kids will be back in school and Labor Day weekend will be right around the corner. If you haven’t made plans yet, check out these great celebrations.

The Purple People bridge Climb in Newport Kentucky. For more information check out www.purplepeoplebridgeclimb.com

The 2,670 foot long bridge towers 150 feet over the Ohio River. The walkway is only open to pedestrians. The bridge painted purple connects downtown Cincinnati with the entertainment district in northern Kentucky called Newport on the Levee. If you go you will be suited up in a scuba like suit with yellow top and purple legs, and hooked up to a cable. While walking across the bridge your tour guide relays the history of the buildings and communities on both sides of the river over your radio headset. While the height may seem a bit too much to many who crossed, all said that the view was just amazing and would do it again.
Are you a “cell fish” user?

Top 10 rules for Proper Cell Phone Etiquette

1. When out with friends, keep incoming calls short. Remember that your live friends are “on hold” until you hang up and get back to them.

2. In a group of people, don’t disrupt their ongoing conversation with your phone call. Excuse yourself and leave the area.

3. Out on a date or with a business client, go ahead let your phone go to voicemail. It’s a sign of respect.
Continue reading "Curb your “Cell Fish” behavior: Cell Phone Etiquette"

Looking for some island fun this travel season, check out these hot spots.

The islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao while not only beautiful provide the least risk of having your vacation ruined by a storm. While a summer trip to the Caribbean has it advantages, such as cheap flights and seasonal hotel discounts, you also take a gamble of encountering strong storms. It’s worth looking into a great vacation with only a 2 percent chance of storms and beautiful calm waters, I did.
