With spring here, so many of us get the fever to grab the dust pan and do some spring cleaning. This year after I was done, things still felt so gloomy.

Kasey sent me these tip for brightening up your home: lighten up, accessorize, color correct, do a switcheroo, & finally de-clutter.
Check out this tip sent to us by Jane, a Happy slob reader.

Tammi's Microwave Cleaning Tip: Kitchen Cleaning Hints and Tips

Here's an email from Tammi. Awww shucks, I love being called the Queen Slob. hehehe

Dearest Queen Slob:) lol

Doesn't the microwave get totally disgusting??
Use a medium sized microwave safe bowl (preferrably plastic-so you don't burn your fingers), fill it with at least 2 cups of tap water, microwave on high for at least 5 minutes, may need longer depending on your microwave-but the water doesn't have to be boiling. Leave the bowl of water in the microwave for at least 1 hour WITHOUT opening the microwave door. The steam will soften all that icky stuff and it will wipe right off with some paper towels. Now there's a cheap cleaner:)
Children need picking up after soccer practice? Super Mom to the rescue! Dinner needs to get on the table? Once again, Super Mom is there! A task at work that no one else wants to tackle? You already know who will deal with it - you. With the stresses of your day-to-day life, housecleaning is likely the last thing on your mind. And yet, it’s hard to ignore, since the proof of it equals a cluttered, messy house – definitely not the happy haven you want your home to be.

Here, then, is a simple 3-step solution to help finally solve the hassle of housecleaning. If you’re a ‘happy slob’ like me – just a laid back, fun natured person who’d rather be doing anything but cleaning – then it might be exactly the solution you’ve been looking for.
The latest trend in home décor is organizing your mud room or entrance area into a beautiful and functioning place.

Start with the kids items: where to hang their coat, book bag and their latest drawing. Think of both usable and colorful hooks, shelves and containers. Put up magnetic boards for schedules or peg board.

Go ahead and show the chore list, just use your own craft items.

Use that digital camera and put up everyday picture of the family, not just the regular framed portraits that you hang in the rest of the house.

I just finished organizing the closets, and toy chest. Lowes had many types of canvas boxes, cubes, bins and organizers. They even came in kid friendly colors too. I put my clothes in the large boxes and tied a label to the handle. I put pillow cases, and towels in the bins. I put toys in multi-colored canvas cubes that slide into shelves. What a great find. It made it so easy to be organized.

Check out this canvas organizer I found. To navigate through the site: click on the picture below, and then click on Lillys Kids and store & organize.
Have you tried it? Tell me what you think.

I’ve got the hand held version, and it works so well on Pet stains new and old. I got a re-built one at Big Lot, but I’ve seen them on sale at Target too.

Tip: Check the ad’s before you purchase. It’s always saves time, money, and gas to comparison shop with the Sunday ad’s, before you run to the store.
