Great way to cut calories

My friend Susanne is so excited. She just lost 5 pounds by trying this new technique. It’s called the Great American Switch out. You just switch a food you usually eat with one that has fewer calories.

Susanne’s Top 10 Switch out’s

1) Instead of a side of French fries, try a big baked potato with 2 Tbsp sour cream.
2) Instead of a cinnamon scone, try a cinnamon raisin bagel.
3) Instead of a bowl of cream of tomato soup, try a hot cup of V8 juice.
4) Instead of a sandwich with egg/cheese & sausage, try a sandwich with egg/cheese & bacon.
5) Instead of stir-fry with beef, try stir-fry with scallops.
6) Instead of 2 handfuls of regular tortilla chips & ¼ cup of guacamole, try 2 handfuls of baked tortilla chips with salsa.
7) Instead of a bowl of chocolate chip ice cream, try a fudge bar.
Instead of a roast beef sandwich with 4 tsp of mayo, try a roast beef sandwich with 3 tsp of honey mustard.
9) Instead of dipping your shrimp cocktail in 2 tsp tartar sauce, try dipping it into 3 tsp of cocktail sauce or catsup.
10) Instead of a slice of pecan pie, try a slice of blueberry or lemon meringue pie.

Continue reading "Great way to cut calories"
First eggs were bad for you because they had too much cholesterol. After the Akins diet became popular, eggs switched to being good--they were high in protein and low in carbohydrates.
Don’t skip meals. Don’t skim on the taste. Do eat smaller portions, but more items. That way you get more variety and fewer calories.
Studies have showed that drinking low fat milk during the middle portion of the day, helps to stimulate weight loss.

In fact drinking 3 cups per day raises your calcium levels to between 1000 – 1300 milligrams, boosting your ability to loose weight. Studies also found that while calcium supplements raise calcium levels in the body, they don’t give it that extra boost needed for weight loss. So ”Got Milk”… anyone?

Note: If you have dairy allergies or are lactose intolerant, calcium supplements are still the most recommended alternative for raising calcium levels.
